Cold and Windy.

It’s still amazing to me how something as simple as a strong wind can make a place feel completely inhospitable. I abhor wind. Especially the raw, cold, 50mph type coming right off the ocean.

I was down at the beach this past weekend and wanted to try out the new Sigma 12-24mm, but the wind was just ridiculous, so I only stayed out long enough to rattle off a few shots. First impression is that 12mm on the 5D is simply “crazy wide” to say the least, and even on the MKIII (~15mm) it’s still pretty damn wide. I’m very happy so far with it’s sharpness, lack of distortion and flat out jaw-dropping wideness. This is the first “rectilinear” wide angle I’ve ever owned, and it’s pretty cool how the distortion works.
