Maybe I’ll end up eating my words tomorrow (April 22nd) but I have to vent. As a preface, I’d like to make it clear that I’m just as excited as the next guy about the possibility of a new 5D being launched. I’ll probably be one of the first in line, eager to throw down my hard earned cash to grab one. I love my trusty old 5D – there’s no doubt about it. It truly is a great camera that produces stunning results. But after using my MKIII for several months, it’s readily apparent that the old 5D is starting to show her age, technically speaking. I am eager for an upgrade, and would be happy to see what Canon’s got up their sleeve. What’s really driving me nuts though, is the constant chatter, dis-information and alleged "inside information" being passed around the web. Hatin’ the hype right now. The more I read, the more pissed off I get and wish folks would just shut up about a new 5D until Canon makes the announcement. Seriously – if there’s nothing official about the 5DII out there yet, just shut the @#$% up. It’s getting old. And I’ll leave it at that. What’s ironic I suppose, is that by posting this, I am in a way, adding to the shitstorm. "Damned if you do, damned if you don’t…" Oh well. Guess we’ll all have to wait and see what tomorrow holds.
