The "Unlocker" is an interesting little application I stumbled across recently. I was tired of having to reboot in order to delete or access certain files that were "in use" or locked by another process… this program takes care of that. I know the site looks kinda shady, but I’ve installed it and had no issues whatsoever:

Also found another freeware program, which looks like a viable alternative to WindowWasher, and seems to do a decent job cleaning out your cache and temp files. Funnily enough, I believe it was initially named "Crap Cleaner":
