After three grueling months of recurring snow showers and below-freezing temperatures, mother nature has more than made up for the mess she created this winter. Spring (the Vernal Equinox) arrived at 1:32 PM EDT on March 21, 2010, and it's been another incredibly busy one so far. Delightful, but busy. With "regular work" kicking my ass on a daily basis, tax season, weekend travel excursions and just trying to keep up with life – I'm generally exhausted most days. This has translated into me becoming truly lazy when it comes to updating my blog, and I haven't been posting nearly as much as I'd like to.  Planning on getting back into a regular schedule here soon, since there's a lot going on in photo-land. Here are some things I'd like to post about, but simply haven't had a spare minute to:

  1. Added the Canon 35mm f/1.4 L to my arsenal (which I flat out LOVE so far).
  2. Picked up a 32GB WiFi iPad, which has quickly replaced my laptop for everything (except mobile photography tasks) – Highly recommended.
  3. Found a way to attach the SpiderHolster to my Think Tank belt semi-permanently.
  4. Anxiously awaiting the Photoshop CS5 + LR3 software upgrades that are on the way.
  5. Got a killer deal on the onOne Plug-In Suite, and have enjoyed working with it so far. (Nik is still more useful to me, but each suite has different tools for different jobs)
  6. Adopted Photo Mechanic into my workflow, which has made "ingesting" photos & choosing "picks" much faster.
  7. Been experimenting with a backyard setup for bird photos (a la Alan Murphy style).

… and much more.

For now, I'll leave you with some images from my travels over the last few months… Talk to you all soon -

One Response to Quick Spring Roundup

  1. Dad says:

    Hey Joel,
Thanks for the good food, portfolio review and the dirty rotten bastards.
The muskrat rules…keep capturing those great images.
    Love…
    Dad
