The G9 continues to impress…

I was skeptical about this little camera at first, but decided to pick one up anyway before my big trip to Maine for use as a pocketable point and shoot. Almost a month later, this tough little bundle of technology continues to impress the hell outta me.

The macro shots that I’ve been able to pull off with it are incredible, and even at iso400, the shots are still pretty usable. It’s been an excellent all-around camera to have handy when I don’t feel like lugging the MkIII or 5D along. So if you’re in the market for a solid point and shoot that has a great set of features, decent image quality, and can shoot RAW, give the Canon Powershot G9 a hard look. It won’t disappoint.

The last time I checked, it was $449.99 at B&H. And if you feel like trying one out in person, CircuitCity carries them too, for $453.99

UPDATE: The folks over at DPReview have just posted a comprehensive review of this camera, if you’re interested.
