Giant Friday Suprise – Boda Bag.
The Boda Dry Bag arrived this morning. I wasn’t expecting it until Monday, but apparently Jim Garner was able to get mine out the door the same day I ordered it. So if you’re reading this Jim, thanks!

Initial impressions:
The bag reeks of quality… and is probably the nicest bag I’ve owned. If a Domke ballistic bag and a Kata rucksack were to have offspring, this is what they’d look like. It looks and feels tough – ballistic cordura, giant quick release clips and nice wide straps are akin to something a stormtrooper would carry, which is definitely a plus. The rubberized bottom is awesome.
I’ve been able to successfully stuff the Boda Bag full of just about everything that was in the Mountainsmith Day pack, while retaining easy access to it all. There are lots of pockets – my favorite being the large one on the front under the main flap. The way the bag rests on my hip with the shoulder strap is great, and it feels even better when attached with the waist belt. Padding is more than adequate without being too bulky. My lenses feel safe in there. The included lens cleaning cloth and metal business card holder were both nice touches.
My single gripe is with the large pocket on the side – the cover isn’t long enough to close with my 580exII in it. Luckily, I have a Honlphoto speed strap on it which has velcro on the outside, so it sticks to that instead.
Overall, a 9 out of 10 so far. I’m happy with it.
I’ll have to post more photos after I get home.

How’d that strap thing go? I’m interested to hear your results!
Oh, and in case you what to slum it, I’ll let you borrow my gadget bag!
Got the R-Strap yesterday and hope to have a post up in the next day or two – I like it so far!
