Viveza 2 from Nik Software
Heads up to any and all fellow NAPP members: You can pick up an early bird copy of Viveza 2 with a nice discount right now.
UPDATE: I've taken advantage of this special offer and have been unable to activate my new copy of Viveza 2. Called their tech support line to activate over the phone on Friday the 11th, and apparently there are a few other people having the same problem I am. Unable to activate online, receiving error code (-11). When I try to activate over the phone, the software will not generate an installation ID, and instead populates the field with "Name". (Running Win7 64bit, PS CS4, Lightroom)
Anxiously awaiting a fix – would really like to use this new version. Anyone else having the same issues? Any workaround so far?
UPDATE, 12/17: The folks at Nik Software got me squared away with a patch tool allowing me to activate my copy of Viveza 2 online, hats off to them for a quick fix. I'm guessing they'll be releasing a point version, like 2.001 when things finally go totally public with their launch.
After using this new version for about an hour or two last night, all I can say is "WOW!" The structure slider is simply as baller as it gets, and being able to make all kinds of global adjustments to an image is a huge time saver. I'm at work right now and don't have a lot of time to go into detail about all the new enhancements, but when I get home tonight I'll be sure to post some before and after shots edited with this new version. Even after using it for only a few hours, I'd already rank it as one of my top 5 plug-ins for Photoshop. Nik has outdone themselves this time – and I'd be willing to bet that Viveza 2 will be getting a ton of accolades in the near future.
I know it's difficult to tell subtle differences with such small images, but here are some before and after shots:
