I think I can speak for everyone when I say it feels like an eternity has passed while waiting for LR3 to go public, but it looks like today is finally the day! For the last month or so, I've been using the beta 2 version almost daily and can honestly say that the two biggest benefits (for me, at least) are the improved noise reduction and the overall speed/perfomance boost. There are other notable improvements such as video handling and lens correction profiles, but what's struck me the most has been the upgraded process version's noise reduction (2010/ACR 6.1) and the increased responsiveness from all the tools and display modes. The new noise reduction in LR3 is truly professional grade and has made an obvious dent in how often I use Photoshop and Nik Software's Dfine plugin.
Many thanks to the entire Adobe team for taking everyone's feedback into consideration and getting this new version out the door on schedule. Can't wait to install my upgrade and start transitioning catalogs to the new process version!
