Straight from the horses mouth, Apple has announced the availability of the iPad.
Apple® announced that the Wi-Fi models of the new iPad will be available in the United States on Saturday, April 3, and Wi-Fi + 3G models will be available in late April. In addition, all models of iPad will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK in late April.
More importantly, on March 12, customers in the United States will be able to pre-order both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G models from Apple's online store (www.apple.com) or...
Well, there it is: The iPad.
Not sure what to say, other than it looks absolutely stunning and my techno-gear-lust just hit a new high. I'd probably go for the 32gb WiFi-only version, since the places I'd use it most are covered with WiFi, and for those times I'm below periscope depth, I could tether to the net with my MiFi unit from Sprint.
Keeping this brief because it's mid-day, and I've got a lot of work to wrap up. For those who weren't able to catch the live keynote, here's a great link with all the pertinent...
What's that you say Comcast? Unlimited WiMax for fifty bucks a month is here! Really? Sounds too good to be true, right? You bet.
Three weeks ago, the frustration in my office was measurable as I opened my new "WiMax U300 USB Modem" and unsuccessfully tried to install the device drivers on no less than five different PC's. No rainbows, no happy songs or bubbles of internet came flying through the air as shown nightly on their pervasive TV marketing blitz. Instead, I was mired in the gray and downtrodden world of the Windows device manager for hours and hours on end,...
I guess it was about two to three years ago that I simply gave up trying to remember every password I had. I just couldn’t keep up, and the passwords kept right on coming.
It was around that time that I stumbled across a program called RoboForm, and I’ve been an avid user of it ever since. It’s an efficient little program that runs in the system tray and does exactly what it advertises. It generates, stores, encrypts and auto-fills passwords. It works incredibly well, except for two small downsides. One is it’s price – you have to license each...
I’m definitely looking forward to the launch of this service in the Philadelphia market, since I ditched my EV-DO Rev A card with Sprint about a year ago. Would be nice to have mobile high speed access again without the exorbitant rates and contract agreements Sprint and Verizon currently require.

Ah. Day 2 of the iPad… Bliss.
After poking around for a bit at the app store and iBooks, I wanted to find out if (and how) I could sync up some free "ePub formatted books" without going through the iStore BS. Yes, Apple has a few that you can "purchase" for free via iBooks, but it's only a small sampling of what's available at the Gutenberg site. I wanted to see what else I could grab – Here's how:
Create an empty folder somewhere on your computer, name it "eBooks" or whatever you like
Go to the Project Gutenberg site...

Oh, Microsoft. What the hell were you thinking moving the tried and true "Show Desktop" icon to the far right corner?
Luckily, some guy has figured out a workaround to get it back where it's supposed to be:

If you follow the instructions step by step, it's quite...

If anyone read my article about password management earlier last month, here’s an update pertaining to RoboForm:

It would appear that they’re stepping up their game and making an online version of their password management tool. Consider me...

Ah, the internet. I was bored tonight and managed to trip across a "rather thought provoking discussion" about teleportation on reddit. Just thought I’d share the insanity: http://bit.ly/6Ecth
It’s an intriguing concept to bend your mind around, and I’m sure it’ll definitely come up again on one of those late, quiet nights after a good amount of booze and cigar smoke. Here’s a short cartoon that summarizes the idea. Also – if you’ve ever watched the movie "The Prestige" or "The Fly", they’re in the same...
